A Summer Program for Older Children! We're excited to announce "The Great Summer Exploration," a half-day program for children ages 5 to 7. Dates are May 22 - August 14. Students may register for one or more one-week sessions or for the entire 12-week program. Hours are 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. After-care is available from 1 to 4 p.m. Space is limited, so apply soon! Girassol's ArtPlay Programs During the year, Girassol offers Art Play Programs after school or when it isn't in session during breaks, holidays, and summer vacation. In all our ArtPlay programs, hands-on activities encourage the development of fine motor skills, neural development, and problem-solving abilities. Making art is also a way for children to learn that it’s okay to make a mistake and start over. It’s a way for them to process their world, to deal with sometimes scary things they don’t understand. And it nurtures creativity and innovative thinking, so important for individuals and organizations. Of course, children love art! An early start will encourage a life-long interest—maybe not a career as a working artist, but certainly a joy in making some kind of art that can continue throughout life. Art is good for everyone!
