Our year-round Preschool Program, which is licensed by the State of Alaska, focuses on kindergarten preparedness for children ages 18 months to 5 years. We are currently accepting applications for enrollment. Download an application here. Girassol Escola de ArtesThroughout the year, Girassol's Escola de Artes offers children's classes after
school and during breaks, holidays, and summer vacation. Art making nurtures creativity and innovative thinking., and children love it! In all our Escola de Artes programs, hands-on activities encourage the development of fine motor skills, neural development, and problem-solving abilities. 
After School Art Program
for 5-7 year olds! Classes meet on Tuesday or Thursday, 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. for four weeks. Sessions in September and October. Details are available here.

Girassol means "sunflower" in Portuguese, the language of Brazil. It is pronounced jih·ruh·sol. Sunflowers bring warmth, light, and happiness to all who look at them, just like children!
