Why is making art good for children? Educators and therapists tell us that hands-on art activities encourage the development of fine motor skills, neural development, and problem-solving abilities. Making art can be a way for children to learn that it’s okay to make a mistake and start over. It’s a way for them to process their world, to deal with sometimes scary things that they don’t understand. And it nurtures creativity and innovative thinking, so vitally important for individuals, organizations, and entire cultures.
Children love making art! An early start will encourage a life-long interest—maybe not a career as a working artist, but certainly a joy in making some kind of art that can continue throughout life. Art is good for everyone! Would you like to know more about Girassol's preschool program? E-mail us! [email protected]
