Indoor Activities at Girassol

Girassol's classrooms are sunny, spacious, and clean. And every space is dedicated to learning--even the hallway. While some activities are effective for all children, we make sure that younger and older children have ample opportunities to engage in activities that are appropriate for their different levels of cognitive and motor skills. Girassol's classrooms are sunny, bright, and clean. We work on math and literacy activities in learning centers. The children work on patterns, number and alphabet sequences, and color recognition. We also love working with shapes to create yummy-looking pretend food! ​

We usually play outdoors everyday, but sometimes the weather is just too wet or cold. Then we play in the gym. Watch us enjoy free play with ribbons!

Children at Girassol become familiar with Portuguese words and phrases. "Gole de agua" means "sip of water."
